Established in 2021, Batavia Jokers was initiated by Ben Dhanio (Mr. Ben) and a group of friends who started their journey at Ketawa Comedy Club, located behind a gas station on Jl. Antasari. Ben Dhanio, one of the founding members, alongside Sukraj Putra, Harry Hartanto, Bayu Ramadhan, and a few others, transformed what began as a casual gathering into a professional platform. After several discussions, the first English-language open mic was held, marking the beginning of a new era for comedy in Jakarta.

Since then, the community has grown significantly, with an increasing number of audiences and comedians joining our events. Today, Batavia Jokers has proudly opened for international comedians and performed on prestigious stages such as Jicomfest and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We’ve also brought laughter to various venues across Jakarta, including Markas Comika, Kaum Jakarta, Mad For Laughs, Loki Bar, Star Bar @American Club, and many more.
